Hello again, Old Friend
It has been too long
Two? Three months?
And look at my poor bikes
Gears rusting
Brakes splintering
Tires flat…
Like a lost spirit.
I have missed your:
Elderly couple walking holding hands smiling Radiant as ever
Wondrous toddler on training wheels wobbling toward Greatness
Sand-covered patches—reminders of wind-blown days given to Tranquility
Volleyball games of Frivolity up and down your course
Recess amidst the Laughter-and-churros-abundant life-force of the pier
Friendly soul disguised as a Smiling stranger saying hello
Kite-flying child aiming for the clouds and Heaven above
And as I ride along your wall
Your beauteous sunsets painted by Divine strokes of pink and purple
I take my wall down and remember who I am
And remember that I, too, am a bike path
Stretching along the shore
Listening under the stars to waves lapping lightly
As day gives to night, and night brings peaceful slumber
Lights still illuminating the path to salvation
Leading the life to Forever
A path of righteousness
I am sorry
That I forgot You
So here is my forever thanks
For always remembering me
