Even Rivers and Oceans...

Moments in a day add up to nothing
Against imprisoned hearts in lonely cells
Yet the opposite of that equation
Is that this is not the news that sells

Simple language for the simple tall folk
Breaking down debates—now black versus white
Argument that we can all understand
They versus us equals wrong versus right

Ironic that Nature’s real fault lies
Between and makes faint physical borders
Easily overstepped, understood by
Science, that could prove so much to be gray

Science, faintly proves classification
As primitive, somewhat antiquated
Useful in understanding difference
Like the Bible, oft unfairly weighted

Shoes with not a mile’s worth of walking
Abandoned deserted uncrossed stations
Kloof and veld drying in Jarvis’ heart
Forging fault lines for fortunate nations

If you opened up your heart to your mind
You’d hear the distant rhythm of mankind
Rolling over fault lines, Join says the beat
His legs twitched…
And he remained in his seat
