When fate locked in our eyes
And unlocked was my guise
In yours? Gratitude for the sunrise
For today it would warm your bed
And this is the image in my head
As I see the fire on the barbecue
What today is like for
you?
My friend who fought for us…
Do you even know its label
When I sit down at the table
And force a prayer out for you
It seems like the right thing to do
And like so many, my heart is lost
When you lie in winter, covered in frost
And so when I see the flame light up today
I can’t help but think about you and the winter
And
Perhaps a fire burning in a barrel is your friend
But if we pray we can tell you in the end
You will be with God, again
And cement will not be your pillow
But you will hear the breeze frolic through the willows
And feel those sunshine rays galloping in at every direction
Because now you are at Sacrifice’s intersection
Of Heaven…
Heaven who knows your name
Heaven, overjoyed to see you again
Heaven, where the barbecue is for you
And the only thing you have to say or do
Is nothing
Because faithful servants, this Banquet is for you
