Either way it’s a good story
Depending on who tells it
And on what day it is told
But Act 3 is the end
And it is being written right now
And I’m just a character in this
Sometimes able to put myself in the audience
Sometimes delivering ridiculous commentary
On my ridiculous performance
Sometimes laughing at myself
Sometimes laughing
Sometimes dropping tears and my heart
Sometimes crying in the crowd
Sometimes at intermission with friends
But always coming back to my seat
Or my spot on stage
Because that’s the way this works
I’ll just play the part
Because someone always is
Because when your number is called
The disgrace and tragedy would be
Not to play the part at all
